Composer-performer āshīsh dhā has spent years in India learning Hindustani raag music, and has also studied sound design (CalArts, MFA), Indian history (BA Hons) and Sanskrit.

Formally trained in both khayaal and dhrupad raagdaaree singing, he is self-taught in a range of instruments including the hammered dulcimer, piano, baansuree and percussion. He teaches Indian music, languages and cooking online, and has given workshops on Sanskrit phonetics and mantra recitation around the globe. He also practises and teaches naad yog (sound yoga) and musical meditation.
